Midnight opening hours at the Knowledge Centre 



From April 13, 2026 to June 28, 2026, the University of Pécs Library and Knowledge Centre welcomes students who prefer evening and nighttime studying with extended opening hours until midnight. 

The Knowledge Centre's opening hours will be as follows starting from April 13: 

Sunday: 10:00 – 24:00 study area available exclusively on the 2nd floor 

Attention!  

From Monday to Saturday, between 18:00 and 24:00, regular library services will be suspended. During this time, visitors may stay only on the 2nd floor.  

On Sundays, between 10:00 and 24:00, all library services will be suspended throughout the building, and visitors may remain only on the 2nd floor.  

On Sundays, the Storage request service is suspended. Remote storage requests for documents to be borrowed can be made in advance from home, available from Monday to Saturday. 

On the 2nd floor of the building, readers have access to study areas and private study booths. Self-service checkout is available via the automated loan machines. Book returns can be made at the automated device on the ground floor, to the right of the Registration area.  

During the extended hours, our traditional library services are suspended, only studying is possible.  

Only registered readers or daily ticket holders - with a purchased daily ticket during Registration opening hours (Mon-Fri: 8:00 - 17:45; Sat: 10:00 - 17:45) - can stay on the 2nd floor of the Knowledge Center.  

Students of the University of Pécs can enter the library area with a valid student ID card if they do not have a daily ticket or reader's ticket.  

During the extended hours, the southern entrance from the parking lot will be closed, so readers can access the library areas through the northern main entrance.  

Bringing food into the library is not permitted. Eating is only allowed outside the library, in the designated area.  

The cloakroom will not be operational during the extended hours.  

During the opening hours prior to the night duty period (Mon–Fri: 8:00–18:00; Sat: 10:00–18:00), library services are available as usual. This includes borrowing books, placing reservations, requesting in-person renewals, returning books, interlibrary loans, as well as submitting storage requests.
